The Goal
My dog, Sparky Leroy Brown, is a mixed breed, about eight or nine years old, and a pain in the butt in the best way possible. His favorite thing to do outside is run back and forth across the yard, barking, squeaking his toy, and shaking it at other dogs passing by. We aren't entirely sure why he does this. Maybe he's trying to act tough or protect his home, but what we do know is that his endless energy has caused A LOT of problems.
Sparky has managed to tear the ligaments in his left knee, leaving him hopping around the house and relying on his other leg. We previously had him undergo lateral suture surgery to help stabilize his knee. It worked for a while, but he never fully recovered and continued to occasionally hop on one leg. You would think he might learn his lesson and slow down after all that, but that just isn't Sparky. We now worry that his excessive running and reliance on his other leg may have caused further damage, potentially including an injury to his right knee. He struggles to move every day and can no longer join his siblings on their daily walks. Seeing a dog who once ran around the yard without a care in the world struggle to take a few steps is heartbreaking.
Help Sparky walk right again! By purchasing a website through BMOWebWorks, you can help make a difference in Sparky's life. All profits earned by BMOWebWorks will go toward funding his knee surgeries and water therapy. Sparky has spent years bringing joy, laughter, and energy into our home. Now, it's our turn to help him. Help us get Sparky the titanium knees he deserves so he can get back to doing what he loves most: running around and tearing up the grass in our yard. Every purchase brings him one step closer to getting back on his paws!
His story
About eight years ago, when I was in fifth grade, I was sitting on the couch with my brother, watching him play video games, when I suddenly heard scratching at the back door. I went to investigate with my brother, and there he was: a starving puppy staring at us through the glass. My brother immediately yelled, “DAD, THERE’S A DOG ON OUR PORCH!” We flung the door open, and he made himself right at home, eventually passing out in the middle of our living room. His belly was covered in bright pink crate rash, and his ribs were clearly visible through his malnourished body. We believe he had been abandoned in our neighborhood by his previous owner, but whatever the reason, we are just happy he found us. That day, a scared, starving puppy found a family, and we gained a companion who would become a huge part of our lives.
